Description

Algonquin Studios is seeking qualified individuals for Associate Developers and paid internships. Associate Developers will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as part of a software development team.

In this position, the candidate should expect to:

Complete specific programming tasks under direct supervision.
Integrate database and component tools into Windows and Web based interfaces.
Provide feedback to application design team to improve software quality.
Execute detailed testing plans for created software and test the software of other developers.
Work as an on-going development resource on multiple simultaneous projects.
Become knowledgeable about basic requirements analysis and system design.

Requirements

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

Current college enrollment, college degree in related field OR professional developer experience with less than 1 year experience. (required)
Ability to structure time flexibly across many projects (required)
Ability to learn from constructive criticism. (required)
Ability to function independently and under pressure (required)
Good communication skills and a strong work ethic (required)
Desire to learn as part of a professional development team (required)
Basic understanding of computer programming techniques (required)
Experience in Microsoft .NET, VB, ASP.Net or SQL (preferred)
Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, XSLT, XML, CSS, JavaScript (preferred)
Knowledge of web design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash (preferred)
