Position: Associate Developer - Paid Internship

Description

Algonquin Studios is seeking qualified individuals for Associate Developers and paid internships. Associate Developers will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as part of a software development team.

In this position, the candidate should expect to:

  • Complete specific programming tasks under direct supervision.
  • Integrate database and component tools into Windows and Web based interfaces.
  • Provide feedback to application design team to improve software quality.
  • Execute detailed testing plans for created software and test the software of other developers.
  • Work as an on-going development resource on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Become knowledgeable about basic requirements analysis and system design.

Requirements

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Current college enrollment, college degree in related field OR professional developer experience with less than 1 year experience. (required)
  • Ability to structure time flexibly across many projects (required)
  • Ability to learn from constructive criticism. (required)
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure (required)
  • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic (required)
  • Desire to learn as part of a professional development team (required)
  • Basic understanding of computer programming techniques (required)
  • Experience in Microsoft .NET, VB, ASP.Net or SQL (preferred)
  • Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, XSLT, XML, CSS, JavaScript (preferred)
  • Knowledge of web design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash (preferred)
