Position: Web Designer / Developer
Position Type: Full Time

Description

As part of the Web Team, this person will be responsible for designing and implementing web sites and applications using HTML and CSS. This person must possess strong design skills for creating web interfaces and graphics. This person must also possess strong coding skills for implementing web interfaces in a manner that is compliant with internal and W3C guidelines for coding and accessibility.

In this position, the candidate should expect to:

  • Conceptualize and design web graphics and interfaces.
  • Implement web sites and applications using HTML and CSS.
  • Implement web sites and applications to current internal and W3C standards for coding and accessibility.
  • Work on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Exhibit expertise on current design trends and principles, typography, web coding techniques and standards, and web accessibility standards.
  • Conduct work at local client sites when necessary.

Requirements

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, and W3C standards for coding and accessibility.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Preferred experience with Flash and Adobe InDesign.
  • Preferred experience with JavaScript and XSLT.
  • Ability to structure time flexibly across many projects.
  • Ability to learn from constructive criticism.
