Algonquin Studios has been selected for their overall commitment to usability and accessibility, as well as the content management system they have recently implemented for the City of Buffalo and Hodgson Russ. An overhaul of the design and navigation of the site, and a commitment to making the site fast, easy and inexpensive to maintain are both in the works. Algonquin Studios has been given the task of moving and restructuring the enormous amount of information currently presented on a dozen different sites into just three web sites: the Roswell Park Public site, an Internal site and a Roswell Park Alliance Foundation site. Flynn and Friends and the Schutte Group have both asked Algonquin Studios to aid in the design and implementation of a web site consistent with Roswell's public image. The creative staff at Algonquin Studios has begun creating a new set of design elements for use in all of the Roswell sites. In addition to developing a fresh look for the web, much of the work featured on the web sites will also find its way into Roswell's numerous print campaigns. Algonquin Studios and the City of Buffalo will work together to develop the City web site to provide residents greater access to government, while lowering the costs of doing business for the City. Algonquin will meet with commissioners from each City department to better understand how the web site can improve customer service. A committee will also be formed to advise the City on the look and feel of the new web initiative. The site will be designed with all users in mind, developing a site that is attractive, useable and accessible. The highlight of this project is the anticipated cost savings for Roswell Park. Over the course of the last eighteen months tens of thousands of dollars have been spent to maintain and update the sites hosted by the Institute. Algonquin Studios is implementing a content management system that allows for web site updates and additions to be made by staff with basic computer skills. Eliminating the need for Roswell to contract out any of its web site updates or maintenance. This helps the Research Institute save valuable donation dollars. Look for a rollout of the brand new Roswell Park Cancer Research Institute's web sites this fall.
