It is great to see the kids having fun, but it is even better to know that the adults that bring them there appreciate what we are trying to do." The club received a grant from US Youth Soccer Start Program to help fund their program. With the money they received, they purchased soccer brand new soccer balls, shin guards, and cleats. "It is awesome to see all the kids running around in brand new stuff that they can call their own. For many of them, that doesnt happen often. We have several volunteers that regularly attend and the kids have gotten to know them very well, and look forward to seeing them," explains Kiernan. Overall the program has been a great success and they look forward to continuin that success each year. You can head out to the JFK Community Center and watch the league in action when they play on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm till 7:30pm. Visit the clubs website for more information. |
